About the arrangement

I have played Stevie's song "Overjoyed" for many years. I finally decided to write it down after one of my students wanted to play it just like I do. When I play it live, I never perform it note for note as I notated it (I am a jazz musician, and we like to change things up!), but the style and feel remain consistent. However, you can see me perform it exactly as notated in my video.

For Whom It Is Intended

I believe that my arrangement will be appreciated by classical musicians as well as those who enjoy more contemporary styles, such as latin and jazz.

Intermediate to intermediate-advanced players will find it relatively easy to learn, although it does have its challenges. First and foremost, keeping time is crucial in this genre of music. From a technical perspective, it may also present some challenges, and using the sustain pedal is advisable.

For convenience, I provided fingering suggestions. However, each performer has their own fingering habits, meaning my recommendation may not suit everyone.
