A Few Words About Bossa Nova

Bossa Nova is one of Brazil’s most influential musical styles and has become one of the country’s greatest musical exports.
In Brazil, it is sometimes called Bossa Nova Samba, or Samba Bossa Nova

When listening to Brazilian recordings titled " Samba," we find a great variety in tempo, feel, and rhythm; some may sound like what jazz musicians call Bossa Nova.

It is important to understand that in Brazil, Bossa Nova is generally regarded as a style of Samba rather than an independent musical genre. By contrast, jazz musicians in the United States and Europe often refer to Bossa Nova as a genre in its own right.
