Jazz Piano Lessons With Thomas at Imperial Towers Chicago

Unleash Your Musicality at the Piano

Hello Neighbor!

I’m Thomas, a professional pianist/keyboardist and music educator living here in the building, offering personalized piano lessons in your home or online.

Whether your interests lie in traditional piano repertoire or contemporary styles, lessons are tailored to your level and goals.

No prior experience in jazz, improvisation, or contemporary styles is required.

Together, we will build the skills and confidence needed to help you play the music you enjoy.

Whether you are:

  • returning to the piano after years away,
  • classically trained and curious about learning something new,
  • a blues fan who wants to play blues and boogie-woogie piano,
  • interested in playing your favorite jazz standards or pop ballads,
  • a vocalist wanting to learn how to accompany yourself in contemporary styles,
  • or simply wanting to play more freely and creatively,

I can also help you explore contemporary piano styles beyond the written page in creative ways by developing skills such as:

  • playing from lead sheets,
  • playing with an authentic blues, jazz, latin, and pop feel,
  • improvisation over chord changes,
  • applying contemporary accompaniment patterns,
  • and composing and arranging.

Lessons are available for students ages 12 and up, from those with little experience to more advanced players seeking new skills and challenges.

In the video below, you can hear me perform in different settings.
